Inspection Faults


This window is used to edit inspection faults. Fields with choice lists are used for fault Types (e.g. Control Logic, Internal Interface, ...), fault Severities (e.g., Observable, Non-observable), and fault Classes (e.g., Missing, Wrong, Extra). The field called "#copies:" is used to create as many copies of the faults of the kind specified in the other fields as are indicated in the"#copies" field.

Usage Instructions

To add a fault, use the TAB key to move to each field and either type the letter or letters of the fault, or select the button at the right of the field that drops down up the choice list. Then press the RETURN key or click the "New" button.

To modify a fault, select the line that represents the fault in the listbox at the right of the window. The fault values in the fields change to match the fault just selected. Modify any fields, then press the "Apply" button.

To remove a fault, select the line that represents the fault in the listbox at the right of the window, then press the "Remove" button.

When the listbox contains the correct faults, press the "Save" button to save the faults and update the database.

Press the "Close" button to go back to the previous window without saving any changes.

Inspection Fault Descriptions

If your project is set up to use Inspection Fault Descriptions, you will see a text input area below the fault Type, Severity, and Class menus. Inspection Fault Descriptions must consist of ASCII text of up to 256 characters, and my not contain any carriage-return characters. You may cut and paste Inspection Fault Descriptions from your system clipboard. To edit an Inspection Fault Description, you must replace the entire text area.
