Inspection Statistic Data Fields


This window is used to view and report on Inspection entries that were found in an inspection statistics query. All of the fields are for information only and cannot be changed in this window. Following are definitions of the fields:

HSF/NS: The number of Highest Severity Faults divided by the Normalized Size of the material inspected. Normalized Size is in hundreds of pages or KNCSL.

Prep Rate: Preparation rate for the inspection. This is determined by dividing number of pages or KNCSL by the total preparation time of all participants.

Insp Rate: Inspection rate for the inspection. This is determined by dividing number of pages or KNCSL by the total inspection time.

Insp Size: The size of the document/code or code that was inspected, in pages or NCSL, respectively.

Num Mtgs: Number of meetings used to complete the inspection.

Prep Time: Sum of the preparation time of all the people who prepare for the inspection, in hours.

Spcl Prep: Preparation time of a special participant, in hours. This field is separate from the "Prep Time" field. Each project chooses a special participant, whose preparation time is tracked. Since COMPAS does not know which participant's time is being tracked, project members must remember it themselves.

System: The name of the system or project for the document/code.

Release: The product release of the document/code.

Subsys: The name of the product subsystem of the document/code.

Comment: A free-form comment about the inspection.

Doc Type: The type of the document/code.

Sub Type: The subtype of the document/code.

Insp Type: Type of the inspection. This is different from the type of the entry.

InspStatus: The status of the inspection.

Area: The area or community for the document/code. This field is often used as a keyword field by many projects.

Disp: The disposition of the inspection.

Num Part: Number of people actually participating in the inspection. This number includes author, moderator, reader, recorder, and all inspectors.

Insp Time: The total meeting time for the inspection, in hours.

Rwk Time: Rework time. This is the amount of time spent by the author to fix any problems found during the inspection, in hours.

Pre Test: The level of testing done before the inspection.

First Mtg: The date of the first inspection meeting.

Last Mtg: The date of the last inspection meeting.
