Review Search
There are two distinct ways to search for and retrieve review entries with COMPAS. You can query on:
- the unique ID assigned to the document
- attributes
Attributes are pieces of information about the document or review given
when the document or review is entered into COMPAS such as the author,
title, date entered, number of pages to review, etc.
This window shows the fields that you use to query for a set of
reviews. If you leave a field blank, you will retrieve review
entries for every possible value of that field. Conversely, entering
values for any of the review entry fields will restrict the search
to those values. Following are definitions of the fields in this window:
- COMPAS ID:
- The unique COMPAS ID assigned to the document reviewed. For example, searching for "1000" retrieves the review entry for COMPAS ID 1000.
- Leader:
- The name of the person who leads the review. For example, typing "barnard" retrieves all review entries whose leader has the case insensitive string "barnard" anywhere in their name.
- Presenter:
- The name of the person who presents the document to be reviewed. For example, typing "barnard" retrieves all review entries whose presenter has the case insensitive string "barnard" anywhere in their name.
- Scribe:
- The name of the person who scribes for the review. For example, typing "barnard" retrieves all review entries whose scribe has the case insensitive string "barnard" anywhere in their name.
- Disposition:
- The disposition of the review. Select a value from the menu of choices for this field: "accpt_asis", "accpt_verif", "rereview".
- Status:
- The status of the review. For example, typing "complete" retrieves all review entries that correspond to completed reviews. Select a value from the menu of choices for this field.
- FirstMtg:
- The date of the first review meeting, in the form mm/dd/yy. You may also use comparative relations with the date. For example, typing "is greater
than" "03/31/95" retrieves all review entries whose first meeting was after March 31, 1995.
- System:
- The name of the system or project for the document reviewed. For example, searching for "sys85" in this field retrieves all review entries that have been created for System 85. Select a Value from the menu of choices for this field. You may use the exclusionary relation with this field (i.e., "is not equal to" "sys85") to retrieve all entries that are not a particular system.
- Release:
- The project release for the document reviewed. For example, searching for "R2V5" in the field retrieves all review entries whose project release is "R2V5". This field is often used in combination with the System field. Select a Value from
the menu of choices for this field. You may use the exclusionary relation with this field (i.e., "is not equal to" "R2V5") to retrieve all entries that are not a particular release.
- Subsys:
- The name of the project subsystem for the document reviewed. For example, searching for "switch" in the field retrieves all review entries whose project subsystem is "switch." This field is often used in combination with the System and Release fields. Select a Value from the menu of choices for this field. You may use the exclusionary relation with this field (i.e., "is not equal to" "switch") to retrieve all entries that are not a particular subsystem.
Enter values for as many fields as you like; COMPAS retrieves all
review entries that match the field values that you specify.
Once you have entered values for the complete query, either press
"return" or select the OK button. COMPAS will retrieve all
review entries specified by the query and display them back in
a new window. If only one review entry is retrieved, the detail
for than entry will be displayed.
Select "Help" on the main menu to learn how to navigate forms and
menus and also how to select items and buttons.
The results of your Review Search are displayed as a Review List.
